Can I add to that list:

Don't Shoot the Dog, Karen Pryor

OK - not a how to book but she made the connection to carry the dolphin training over to other animals and its a really good read. (Has a good bit on clicker training husbands Smile)

And onto the "How To" books

Clicking with Your Dog, Peggy Tillman

A very simple book almost Clicker Training for Dummies

Clicker Training for Dogs, Karen Pryor

Another starting out book.

These are both pet training books for people that want an overview of the method. I've used bits from both these books but they don't adress how to do heelwork. I haven't found a really good Clicker Training for Obedience book yet. The best I've found to date is:

Clicker Training for Obedience, Morgan Spector

Again I don't like the way he does heelwork. What you have to remember with this book is that it is written around the American classes and excercises and the 2nd half of the book goes through how he trains these in detail. Interesting but American Obedience is completely different to ours. The first half of the book is really useful though.

A good book to inspire you as to all the silly and less silly things you can do with your dog is:

Dog Tricks, Fun and games for your clever canine, Mary Ray & Justine Harding

Very good to teach a pet dog tricks or maybe to inspire some of us to start training for HTM.

I do feel though that the best way to learn is to find a class or trainer whose approach you like, be it for Pet Training or more specialised training, and just get stuck in Smile

I like "Quick Clicks" by Mandy Book and Cheryl Smith

It actually breaks everything down into little steps and actually tells you what to click and treat.

The best clicker book I have read, used it with Moses. Check out our website for his tricks.
